  • Joetsu Aquarium Umigatari

    You can see creatures such as Magellanic penguins and dolphins in the large aquarium and underwater tunnel themed around the Sea of Japan.

    Everyone from adults to children can enjoy the bottlenose dolphin performance and the penguin feeding experience.

  • Lake Nojiri

    Mount Madarao and Mount Kurohime can be seen from the lakeside, and sightseeing boats that tour Lake Nojiri are also popular.

    The lakeside is home to Lake Nojiri Naumann's Elephant Museum, which exhibits and researches Naumann's Elephant fossils, as well as nature observation trails such as the "Elephant Trail," so you can enjoy strolling and trekking.

    In the summer, you can also try out marine sports such as SUP, canoeing, yachting, and board sailing.

  • Shinohara Festival(Grass vegetables)

    The Sogensai Festival, a beloved spring tradition in Myoko City, is a major event that heralds the arrival of spring and is held around Ike no Taira Onsen and Imori Pond.
    Against the backdrop of a clear early spring night sky, the "O-Kayabayaki (fire characters)" appearing on the mountainside, along with the spectacular fireworks illuminating the night sky, create a fantastical atmosphere.In the still chilly spring weather of Myoko, a scene unfolds that warms the heart.

  • Sekiyama Shrine Fire Festival(Sekiyama Shrine Festival)

    This festival, which originated from the worship of Mount Myoko, boasts a tradition of over 1,300 years.
    The mock mountain ascetic's stick fighting, pine tree pulling, portable shrine procession, and sumo wrestling dedication will be performed by the youth association of the parishioners of Sekiyama Shrine.
